Public transport

Public transport on the island is managed by the KTEL Zakynthos company. The local bus connecting the airport and the Zakynthos Bus Station (Zakynthos Bus Station) runs only a few times a day, and on Saturdays and Sundays there are no bus connections to or from the airport.

The central bus station (KTEL) is located in Zakynthos Town on the road close to the hospital (Mothonaio Street) and is a brand new building with a ticket office displaying prices, departure times and destinations, a cafe, snack bar, press and souvenir shop.

Local bus tickets are also available on the bus. Buses from Zakynthos Town travel locally to: Argassi – Xirokastelo – Vassilikos – Porto Roma – Tsilivi – Planos – Tragaki – Kipseli – Alykanas – Alykes – Katastari – Orthonies – Anafonitria – Volimes – Exo Hora – Kambi – Agios Leon – Agios Nikolaos – Machairado – Galaro – Gyri – Keri – Agalas – Lithakia – Laganas.

There are daily trips from Zakynthos to Athens (5 hours), Patras (2 hours) and Salonika (9 hours) by bus with the company KTEL.
